Better Than Anticipated (by t-reyno77) |
I went into this movie with low expectations after having seen the first movie, which I also enjoyed. I happened to stumble upon a few reviews before going to see the movie with my brother and almost didn't go see it because of the bashing reviews that it received not from viewers, but from the so called 'Professional Critics'.I tend to go to my theater on Tuesdays, mainly because it's family day and the ticket prices are much lower at Rave owned Theaters that day so it was a good day for me to Smurf it up and see this new movie. In fact my little brother being 16 and I at 24, <more> |
Great one-liners (by gkeith_1) |
Great one-liners. Powerful inside jokes. To smurf as a verb. A laff a minute. Snot on the half-shell. You had to think quickly to pick up on these absurdly wonderful philosophical gems. I almost smurfed myself. What's next? Smurfaholic? Smurfolympics? Smurfamatic? Smurfinsomnia? Smurfinsanity? Baby, it's smurf outside. Maybe some of these have already been used. Get your smurf on? And the list goes on. Kudos to the writers. I totally enjoyed this film. Not much was on with which I was familiar, in our hallowed discount movie house. So I thought, "Why not see the Smurfs? What the <more> |
Great kids film (by sjwicks) |
Having already seen Despicable me 2 And Monsters University, these summer hols, I took my two kids to see Smurfs 2. I have to say, despite any toffee nosed film critics who have panned this film, we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was equally good, if not better than the two previously mentioned films. The animation, especially the interaction between real life and CGI was impressive. It was funny, fast-moving, and at times emotional. Gargamel's performance was wonderful. Some of the visual effects, such as the "Roue de Paris" coming of it's axle and rolling through the streets of <more> |
Smurfnapping in Paris! (by HollywoodJunket) |
Those adorable Smurfs are back on the big-screen in the sequel to the 2011 blockbuster hit. They are as appealing today as they were when first introduced on television in 1981. Their contagious, cheerful energy draws you in and the optimism they possess throughout permeates the screen while trying to conquer the evil, Grinch-like Gargamel.Gargamel still has an appeal that viewers love to hate. His somewhat likable bad guy continues to be the central character. In "the Smurfs 2, directed by Raja Gosnell who also directed "The Smurfs", and "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" <more> |
Great movie (by ramez_daoud) |
For all the bad comments i say please its enough. If you don't like this type of movies please watch something else. Don't ruin this great movie by your bad ratings and comments and spoilers. And now for the fans i say it was a very enjoyable movie. It kept me and my girlfriend entertained the hole time. And we were on the edge of our seats. And i say it is a great movie for the kids and it contains some good morals as well. I say it is a good sequel and i hope that the sequel will continue and hope to see in the near future " The Smurfs 3". I remember in the theater the <more> |
A Worthy Sequel Despite the New Direction (by borisreviews) |
It pains me greatly to tell my dear readers the following, but "The Smurfs 2" does not reach the cinematic heights reached by the first film in this storied franchise and I'm quite certain the other attendees of the exclusive screening felt the same .In this outing, critical darling Raja Gosnell has consciously moved away from the blend of South Korean revenge saga and Bollywood sentimentality, which so strongly epitomized "The Smurfs." Here we are presented with a deeply symbolic and nonlinear narrative with little regard for pacing think European artistry . <more> |
Very good and funny sequel. Enjoy the show again! (by illmor-814-204784) |
The Smurfs are so beloved characters, that a movie about them have to be good in almost every sense. The producers made it with the first movie, and this time they not only match the quality of the first one, but give us an improved product in visuals, plot and funny quotes. New additions to the story are very well received as they are funny and leverage the story. Also main characters are very good and now are more developed and involved in the plot giving the movie a much more familiar feeling. Many of us grew with the smurfs and this time you feel that your are seeing a follow up to the <more> |
I thought it was great and I'm 39! (by phill-470-620498) |
I went to the cinema to watch the first one in 3D with the kids and I have to admit I was putting a brave face on and trying to concentrate on enjoying the blue Slush Puppy drink that only cinemas seem to sell.I settled the kids into their seats and and put on my 3D glasses and hoped it would hide the fact from my partner that I was asleep, as long as I didn't snore again! I have to say still talking about the first one here that I was pretty impressed from the outset. The 3D has come a hell of a long way from the day's of Jaws when I last used it and the storyline was strong and <more> |
